LIBRARY - Online Catalog Instructions

Here are some instructions on how to use the Library's ONLINE request system... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! :-)

First, you might want to print this page for instructions while you go through the process. Or, if you're familiar with browsing the internet using "tabs" (multiple browser windows opened simultaneously), you can just right-click on the link(s) and select "open in a new tab (or window)". Also, of course, you will need your San Diego County library card handy, and in good standing (i.e., not more than a few dollars in late fees on your account).

(Keep in mind that the Carlsbad library and the SD County library are on separate databases. For Carlsbad's library catalog, CLICK HERE.)

• Go to the San Diego County Library site, or more directly, go to their "Classic Catalog" View. Bookmark this page for future use.
  
• Enter the subject/title/author you're looking for in the "search" box and (in the Classic view) select Keyword / Author / Title / Subject / Call #, then select the "GO" button.
• A list of possible matches will be generated. You can reserve one of these by selecting "View or Request Copies" (on the right side of each listing), or you can add multiple copies to your "book cart" by pressing the "book cart" button to the left of each entry.
• If you're selecting multiple items, once you're done filling your "book cart", go to the top-left of the page and select the "View Saved" button. Then just follow the prompts, enter your library card and pin # (if you need help, click the "Forget your PIN#?" button), and select which library branch you'll want to pick up your materials from.
• You may need to update your email address or phone number on the "My Account" section, in order to be properly notified when your materials arrive.
• Depending on how available the materials you requested are, it could take as little as 1 day, or as long as several weeks, to receive your request.

"The Privileged Planet"

Hi everyone!

We had a great turnout for our first-ever "Home School Reality Show" at Daybreak Church last night...15 people (representing 20 parents) came to hear more about (and be encouraged in) Christian Home Education! For those of you who attended, we hope you'll join us for our follow-up session this Monday night, August 17th (6-8pm), as we talk about the following topics:
